THE TODDLER CURRICULUM

Neriah Montessori’s Toddler Program offers a curriculum that emerges from each child’s unique skills and interests.

The child at this age focuses on enhancing skills such as language, concentration, problem-solving, visual discrimination, and physical coordination.

Sensory & Perception

Our carefully selected sensory materials and activities help children refine their senses and develop their ability to discriminate, classify, and compare. By engaging in sensory activities, children enhance their perceptual skills, build their attention span, and develop their cognitive abilities.

Sensory and perception play a crucial role in a child’s development and learning. In our Montessori program, we understand the importance of providing a rich sensory environment that promotes exploration and discovery.

Language

Our Toddler Program provides a rich language environment, encouraging children to develop their vocabulary, communication skills, and phonemic awareness.

Our Montessori teachers use a variety of tools, such as songs, stories, and conversations, to introduce new vocabulary and help children build their language skills.

By nurturing children’s language development, we help them become confident communicators who are well-prepared for future academic success.

Individual Attention

We provide individual attention to each child, ensuring that they receive the guidance and support they need to thrive and reach their full potential.

Social Skills

We provide opportunities for children to develop social skills, such as turn-taking, sharing, and conflict resolution, helping them develop positive relationships.

Designed for Toddlers

Our Toddler environment is designed specifically for our early learners. Each aspect of the environment is child-sized, like; materials, chairs, and tables.

Practical Life

Our Toddler Program focuses on practical life skills, such as dressing, self-care, and cleaning up after oneself. These activities build independence, confidence, fine motor skills, and concentration.

Our carefully designed practical life activities  cater to each child’s individual needs and interests, making learning engaging and fun. Through practical life activities, children develop essential life skills that foster independence and self-confidence.

Culture

The Toddler’s culture area includes art and free play. Through art activities, children develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. Art also promotes emotional expression and socialization, helping children develop their confidence and self-esteem.

Our Toddler Program incorporates purposeful activities and collaborative play which encourages children to understand the importance of teamwork and learn to respect each other’s point of views. They become capable of not only connecting with the school environment, but also become aware as citizens of a community.

Music

We understand the power of music to engage and motivate children, and we use a variety of musical instruments and activities to foster a love for music and develop children’s musical skills.

Through singing, dancing, playing instruments, and listening to a variety of poems/rhymes, children develop their sense of rhythm, pitch, melody, and harmony, as well as their listening and concentration skills.
